Thanks my friend….I’m training for a marathon and this bacon bowl pops what? Arrrgghhh….:)
I’ve been thinking of nestling baked eggs in some bacon-lined muffin cups…this gives me some ideas. Thanks!
You had me at Bacon Bowl.
Sweet baby jesus. What did you put in that bowl of awesome? Please tell me it involved more bacon.
HAHAHAHA it sure did!!!! A bacon bowl to serve perfectly rendered pieces of bacon in.
p.s. After eating the bacon I punished myself with a hour on the stairs…well worth it!
Next time you should just let ME eat the bacon for you. That way you have no stairs to run. Really, I’m doing it for you man.
I am more than happy to make a special bacon bowl just for you…open invitation.

Quinoa Crab Cakes
1 cup cooked Red Quinoa
1-1/2 cup lump crab meat
1/4 cup diced celery
1/4 cup diced red onion
1/4 cup diced red pepper
2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 cup panko break crumbs plus extra to coat cakes
2 whole eggs
1/2 cup mayonnaise
Vegetable oil for frying
Mix Red Quinoa, crab, celery, onion, red pepper, Parmesan cheese and parsley in bowl and toss until evenly incorporated. Add salt, black pepper, garlic, and red pepper flakes then continue to blend. Add eggs and mayonnaise the mix just until evenly incorporated. Grab a small handful of the mixture and pack into a patty, then coat the outside in the extra panko bread crumbs.
Heat vegetable oil in a sauté pan on medium heat, the brown both sides of the patty until golden, about 2 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towel before serving with your favorite accompaniments.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
I want to tell you I love you right now….but we barely know each other. 😉
Thank you. I’m going to try this recipe out asap. I’ve been looking for recipes to indulge my big box of quinoa.
🙂
Love at first sight! Nothing wrong with that ;op
Let me know if you have any other questions, and thanks for checking out my blog!

You could also maybe replace the mayo in the recipe with low-fat plain yogurt to bind it up as well, but I have not tried that yet.
Bacon bowl. WOW! Love the Quinoa Crab Cakes. Gotta try those! 🙂 Great blog! Thanks for liking mine!
Yum! I’m thinking of breakfast right now and would love to rip them out of the screen. Cheers!
Thank you for liking my Total Transformation Workout post! Check back in the future for more recipes and workouts!
So I tried the crab cakes last night……marry me???
Seriously, they were so delish. I omitted the celery because I think celery is absolutely disgusting in taste and texture, but otherwise the cakes were super yum!!!!!

I’ve heard that bourbon is actually the new bacon, which makes me very happy because I’m a fan of both.
Think you would love the bourbon, bacon brownies I made the other day. Loving your blog. L.
That sounds like a winning combo to me as well!

Your egg dish looks super tasty!
Bacon Bowl?! That is freaking awesome! My husband and I want to marry you, but we’re currently fighting over who gets the honors. 😉
There is enough of me to share!!!
MH
Thank you for posting the recipe for the quinoa crab cakes! I’m going to try it with homemade Greek yogurt instead of the mayo like you suggested! Thank you for the likes on my posts as well! I have enjoyed all of the postings I have read of yours!!
Someone else replaced the mayo with yogurt and said it turned out great! You might need to cut back on the lemon juice just a tad because greek yogurt has a more sour profile than mayo.
Thanks for the tip! I’m excited to try the recipe out this week!
That bacon bowl is a work of art!
Thank you very much!!! It was just as fun to eat.
MH
