About

THIS IS NERDSTEAK

NerdSteak is a site devoted to food and culture shenanigans.  Based in the Chicagoland area, NerdSteak will provide you with interesting and strange content about food, recipes, ingredients, food culture, and the comedy of epic wins/fails from around the world. There is no food too fancy, nor any food too cheap that NerdSteak won’t take full advantage of.

ABOUT MIKE HARACZ

I am the CEO, CFO, COO, and busboy for NerdSteak.  I decided to start this site to give my opinion on the food and beverage industry across the world.  I also think I’m funny. Very funny.  Most of the content viewed through this site are my perspective on things, however I will try my best not to offend you, but I can’t make any guarantees.  Why listen to what I have to say anyway?

I have over 15 years experience in the food industry. The first half of my career thus far was being a chef in numerous high-end restaurants, country clubs, and corporate chains; the other half as an R&D chef for food manufacturers (yes, the people you blame for being unhealthy). I am also the chef/partner for a competition BBQ team called, Axe-Men BBQ. I play guitar and have toured with my fair share of B-list musicians,  I try to eat healthy when I can, but bacon and beer usually gets the best of me, and I play more video games than your average tween.  I pretend to be good at poker, I decided to try and learn how to play golf at 30 years old, I unsuccessfully quote movies, I watch too much TV, and I am addicted to humorous memes. I currently live in the Chicago suburbs surround by every chain and fast food restaurant you can think of, and I am more than happy to eat foie gras one day, and a cheap Chinese buffet the next.

My goal with NerdSteak is to entertain, educate, and provide silly content for your eye holes.
